It just reeks of wanting to set a precedent for such matters and for something that was clearly a joke it is just plain troubling in general. Are we going to arrest John Cleese now for his nazi impressions in Fawlty Towers?


This, on paper our hate speech laws aren't that bad and not really any different than Americas. This definitely reeks of the guy being made an example of to get away with acting upon them more often and more harshly.

I think it was a pretty tasteless joke, but it was obviously a joke and the sad thing is, is that there are tonnes of actual British white nationalists espousing horrible stuff on Facebook/Twitter/etc and it'd actually serve a better purpose to really make an example of them and not this guy.
