You know, Metal_DK, the more I hear you talk about this, the more it feels like you're harboring a grudge over the results of a contest and are trying to pin the blame for all the wrongs of the world on it.

Nah its just 2007 is the biggest pivot point in post ww2 history. Bigger than 89 with the fall of the Berlin wall, 01 with 9/11, early 60s with the CMC, JFK and major aspects of the civil rights movement, etc.

Social media (and spare me the myspace was social media argument, we all know what people mean when people say social media) has caused each year to generate more of the world's data than the previous years combined. You don't think that's causing problems or at least shaping how our society works? Sure it can be helpful, but more likely people will use this is much more deceptive ways.

I barely cared about the 2007 contest then or now. It's not about the contest at all. The 2007 gfaqs contest was just one of many metaphors for what was to come
