Hmm. To some extent, youre rightgames I played as a kid are still my favorites. The same series of games are still ones I pay the most attention to today. I guess what I mean to say is there are certain things that stop appealing to you, or you reflect back on and laugh, or that maybe just dont hold up to your memories. It isnt black-and-white, one way or the other, you know?

For me, I dont get hung up on TOS as being at odds with any feeling. Honestly, I havent played it since the before the Wii came out. I have a vague recollection of how it was, I have played a more modern take on Tales and didnt like it, and I know those types of RPGs dont appeal to me much today. I mean, its nothing against Tales, I also dont find Final Fantasy very appealing anymore either. What I want out of it is no longer what sells the most, or what is appealing to the 16 year olds of today, and doesnt resonate with my own sensibilities.

In my mind, this is natural. If someone say, I loved Final Fantasy growing up, and I never stopped loving it! I dont pass any judgment on their mindset. I think thats great, because Im that way with Mario or Zelda. It just happens to people, right? We all kind of go through it. I think people just get real hung up with me and Tales, haha, but I truly have no ill will there. I make light of it, but I have no energy to run around hating it and thinking its a curse on the world. I would probably play it sooner than most of the most popular games these days.
