Out of curiosity, are citizens also put to work in prisons paid $1/hr, or is it just immigrants? The article isn't clear.

I don't think any prisoner should be forced to work for $1/hr... I'm just curious if this is a "corrupt prison system" problem or specifically an immigrant rights problem

EDIT: Just read the article. Assuming it isn't literally making shit up, the immigrants are being paid the same rates as all other prisoners, the rate is based on existing law the congress passed a decade ago, and employment is voluntary.
