Maybe there's more too it and Kristin is correct that she shows no remorse. Maybe she has been acting like such and its obvious. But what use is it for Americans to pay for her to spend 14 years in prison? Is that how long it will take her to learn to not drunk drive? Would 10 years not accomplish the same result? 5? 3? What a joke. DUI is one of the most repeated offenses in the US. Go to a state like New Mexico or Texas. The penalties for DUI are a joke, hence you will see some people with 8+ DUI's. There was a story in a town I used to live in New Mexico where this guy just got out of prison for killing someone while intoxicated ended up killing another person while intoxicated again not more than a week after he got out of prison because of severely lax punishment. Throw the book at offenders like this and get rid of these lax punishments and you have a better chance of dropping the DUI crimerate. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
