It doesn't actually take that long really. My mom filed bankruptcy a few years back and was already getting her credit established again a couple years later Established, sure. How long till it was back to the peak score before she filed, though? Obviously, the 7 years is an estimate, will be longer/shorter for each person I'm sure. But that's what I heard it takes.
