So Smash is no different than any other fighting franchise. But once a while things get changed up and Brawl and Soul Calibur 2 are about the few I found that offer something other than "arcade" mode. Brawl's story mode was like playing a beat em up with Smash characters. SC2 offer to hone skills and test your brain rather than just one mindless fight after another than usually be accomplished with button mashing.Brawl is literally the only entertaining entry to date in the Smash series. Then you should understand that fighting games are far from mindless, especially above the casual level. Fighting games are the chess of video games. Mind games + reaction/execution. The fun part is using the tools you are given to stay ahead of your opponent. Each subgenre and each game with different mechanics all offer to switch up those tools. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
