Trust me, friend, that's not my issue. I have pretty severe clinical depression and it has nothing to do with a skewed persepective of what life should be or a lack of my own self interest.

Clinical by who's estimation a clinical phsycologist put you on pills then watch as od and suicides go through the roof look this info up for yourself.

Clincal by a physician. Also, anti-depressants work. Not only according to most studies (including a recent big one), but also by me. I'm not great with them, but I'm even worse without them.
