ai seems interesting but i know not a lot about it (not sure if im even expected to at bachelors level) i was top of my class for web development (but i know nothing about design) but not a lot to do there other than "web app for x niche"
That's where a master's degree would come in handy. It's a bit of an introduction to research, and the thesis work actually has to be a contribution, albeit small. You could always begin by reading papers on things you might be interested in. If you did a bachelor, surely you did some literature review for your bachelor's thesis?
didnt do a bachelors thesis at my uni, instead we did a semester long group project. ended up being a complex-ish web app, with 50 pages of documentation and a 25 minute video presentation. didnt have to research anything in any serious manner other than "do we use python or php" and similar choices
That sounds like a very practical but unacademic degree then :) I by all means encourage you to go back to school, studying and learning is fun! And learning how to do research is even more fun. ---
