Yea Im thinking about selling my car after this,

Basically paying $1000 for no reason

I swear a car wouldnt be expensive if it werent for assholes but I guess thats just life

Ouch. $1000 is a pretty high deductible. You accepted a larger portion of the risk associated with owning a car in exchange for a cheaper auto insurance premium. Hopefully, you have at least saved enough on your premium as a result of the high deductible to justify this shared risk.

I get it. Hit and Runs suck. A good insurance company can definitely soften the blow. I had to use my own comprehensive policy when some jerk messed up one of the body panels on my car. I was out $250, my deductible, and got the car sent to a repair specialist who was certified by my auto manufacturer. I was told that if it wasnt blended to my satisfaction, they would ship a new panel from Germany to fix it. I was without my car for a few days, but it looked just as good as new when I got it back.

Good luck and hopefully you have a speedy resolution.
