You might want to consider keeping your kids in a climate controlled safety room then. You might be vaccinated (a vaccine isn't a cure, it just prevents you from getting sick) against diseases like mumps or measles, but you can still act as a carrier. Your kids don't have to interact with random people to get sick, all they need is you.
