Also, people saying ohh, no way will people give up their guns...they cant take peoples guns away...

Yeah, your weapons are registered (depending how you bought them I guess), and all they have to do is skim through the registry database and mail out a letter to all those with the guns, and say It is on record that you own X,Y, and Zyou have until (insert arbitrary date) to turn in your registered firearms. If you do not comply or do not prove you no longer own these guns, you will be charged with possessing X,Y, and Z, and charged with (insert new BS law youre breaking) which is a 5th degree Felony, and a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

Thats literally it. And on top of letters theyd have public service announcements on the TV, Radio, all across social media, so there wouldnt be any I missed the message leeway.

I was discussing this exact problem on reddit yesterday, and two people claimed that this happened (not sure what city/statepossibly NY) in their state, and they were forced to take their guns in, and forfeit them. They did not receive any compensation, no tax write off, no nothing. If youve got thousands of dollars invested into this hobby, youll be shit out of luck, unless the city or state this happens in decides to not be complete pieces of shit about it (if theyre pieces of shit and pass the law that is).

Just food for thought.

People will not turn in their guns willingly. It's a joke to believe millions of people could be prosecuted for that.

Im tellin you man, its already happened. I cant find the link, and after 30 minutes going back through my Reddit history, I cant find the two guys talking about turning their guns in.

What I did find from a google search was this though, which is pretty much the same thing:

https://www.google.com/amp/boston.cbslocal.com/2018/02/02/bump-stock-massachusetts-ban/amp/

Bump stocks banned, and requested to have them turned in. One guy apparently spent $250 on hiswhich is on the lower end of the spectrum cost wise for a pistol.

The punishment is pretty damn steep too, this is taken from the article:

...All licensed gun owners in Massachusetts got letters explaining bump stocks would have to be surrendered by February 1. The new law carries stiff penalties, from 18 months to life behind bars for those found guilty...

Now, youre telling me if you got a letter in the mail and instead of bump-stocks, it was semi-auto firearms, you wouldnt turn it in? Especially if they had names and addresses of all those who have these weapons? Im pretty sure like 99% of people would, 0.5% wouldnt, and take it to court to fight the constitutionality of the law, and the remaining .05% wouldnt do a damn thing and just be lazy/say fuck that.

Id even say that the police could probably get a warrant to search your house if you were on the list and did not comply (for firearms, not the bump-stocks). Nowadays Im sure most judges would grant the warrant.

Anyways, Im not saying this or bringing up this to argue with you personally, Im just bringing this shit up because such is the world we live in where we always say that aint gonna happen..no fucking way.. and then it happens.
