Sure we all know that the war on drugs was an utter failure. A big ol' racist failure.
But the war on guns will totally work guys.
People calling for "Mental Health checks" should know this is racist too. This always affects poor and minority groups first.
So because one area of legislation isn't successful we shouldn't have legislation for other things?
There is no way we can possibly remove all of the guns from the US.

This. Republicans scream Democrats are coming for your guns!. They are? News to me. Last I heard, Democrats just want to ban military grade assault weapons (that civilians have no valid reason to own) and enact sensible gun laws.
What is a "military grade assault weapon" and why specifically do you want it banned?
M-1, AR-15, etc. Fully automatic (and even semi-automatic) designed to fire several hundred rounds a minute to kill as many people as possible in as short a timespan as possible. See the Las Vegas shooting as a prime example. Now, imagine when (not if) someone that has an AR-15 (because they weren't banned) shoots and kills 100+ people, perhaps a family member of your's. Everyone says "Oh, it won't happen to me or my family!"...until it does and then it becomes "Why didn't I do something when I had the chance, then (person) would still be alive today!". Don't wait until it's too late. ACT NOW.
again though, handguns kill WAY more people, so why do you have such a boner for assault weapons?
