Haven't seen Dexter so I can't comment.

I'll go with Star Trek: Voyager. Sure they deal a crippling blow to the Borg and get back home, but then what? All we see is the ship get escorted to Earth. What happened next?

You already know what happens next, that's the beauty of time travel. You know what happens TWENTY YEARS after the season finale. The whole point of Voyager was getting back to the Alpha Quadrant, and Voyager easily has the best season finale of any Star Trek series. It's not a clip show, it's not revising written out characters, it's not a pat on the back for the writers. It's freaking intense, it ends on a high note and it's extremely memorable. They spent seven years trying to get back home, and from the time they come out of the Borg transwarp conduit in the Alpha Quadrant to the credits rolling is just over two minutes.

TNG and DS9 didn't have clip show finales, pats on the back, or revised characters. If anything, Voyager had the fucked up characters since it suddenly and without warning puts Chakotay and Seven in a relationship which had never been hinted at before. I will say it kept Janeway true to form though. She unilaterally decided to go back in time to change things because she personally wasn't happy about things.

TNG and DS9 also had events that led up to the finale (to the point where DS9's last ten episodes or so were pretty much just one long episode) and Voyager, in true Voyager fashion, pulled some stuff out of its ass.
