I think they're trying to get at that no one would ever really notice or care if every episode was directed by a man I'll judge a work by its merits and not the identity of its creators but its probably not cool to hire folks with prejudicial standards when the end product isn't even suppose to be a work warrantying and requiring the views of said aforementioned preference.
