Fun fact: coca also means cocaine

Touche

smh man what the fuck were they thinking when they named a soda "coca-cola"

like, "coca-cola"? one's first thought is, "isn't coca short for something? COCAINE COLA?" smh

Because originally, cocaine was the active stimulant in coca cola until it was outlawed and was switched to caffeine.

Actually, it originally used both. Even today they still use the Coca leaf, but only after treatment to remove the cocaine. The cocaine is sold for pharmaceutical purposes. Apparently only one business in the country can import and process coca leaves and only one can purchase and process the cocaine.

Interesting...

I knew it used to be brewed with coca leaves, but didn't know they were still doing it.

Basically that's why there hasn't been a true copycat for this brand.
