America especially the right have this ego problem. We have to be the best, no country can do something better then us. We also can't be followers, so even if other countries do something better then America we have to ignore it, demonize it or lie about it. Our solutions have to be better.

Thing is you can love this your country and recognize it's flaws. You can want to improve things and make your country better. Ignoring it's problems isn't love and it isn't helpful. If other countries are doing something that works accept it and try to see if that method can work for your country. If it can't find something that can.

Ignoring mass shootings and refusing to talk about them after they happen does not work. It's what republicans and democrats have done for decades now. Try something different.
