Never understood why everyone is so hell bent on the death penalty, as if thats the ultimate form of punishment and bring some sort of retribution to those lost. I understand that what has happened is unfathomably sad, but shouldnt the objective be to help prevent future attacks from happening? Killing him will not bring back the death unfortunately opposed to keeping him alive in which we can study him and learn his motives and how his through process works like we have with countless other serial killers and potentially save lifes in the future. Besides, keeping him in death row will cost everyone a lot more opposed to life and solitary.

Besides, death is the easy way out for these people. Just imagaine a life in super max prison. Solitary confinement for 23 hours a day in a 12x12 cell. No activities, no visitors, eating the same crap food every meal. Zero interaction with humanity for the rest of your life. No way to even kill yourself. I just simply cant imagaine anything worse than just letting your mind rot to sheer insanity from being in solitary confinement. I would rather be ass raped everyday in gen pop and certainly rather die than having to deal with a life in solitary.
