Despite what you see in the news, America is safer than it has been in many decades

Wrong. FBI statistics report that the amount of mass shootings has increased.

What if I told you that there are many other types of violence?

I don't know where you're going with that but I'm old enough to remember a time when there weren't 2-3 high-profile mass shootings on the nightly news every year. And this is only going back 15-20 years.

Those are awful, but even today do you think the number of people killed in mass shootings comes anywhere close to the number of homicides, rape, and violent assault?

You might hear about high profile shootings on a regular basis but theyre also exceedingly rare given the sheer number of people in this country alone.
being exceedingly rare doesn't matter much to someone whose child's brains were just scattered across the classroom floor, does it?
