Topic	Are republicans ok with gun violence?

I'm also not okay with car accidents or cars being used as weapons or homemade bombs, but I'm not going to pretend that banning things is the solution. Especially not when the 2nd amendment is a right in this country. But why do you go to the extreme of ban? How about common sense regulations like mental health background checks? I don't think anyone is against common sense regulations like those. What I'm seeing is that there are people, at least here, who are calling for outright bans.
