| UnfairRepresent 02/16/18 6:44:09 AM #6: | Gun Culture is completely different. The US owes (or at least the accepted belief is that it owes) it's existence and freedom to guns. So owning guns is literally part of the constitution. As a result guns are idolized and worshipped. Have been for centuries. Families have them, some people's earliest memories are shooting with their parents. This means there is an enormous amount of guns in circulation and a hundred million people who love them. Meanwhile at the same time there is a constant influx of guns coming in from Mexico. And a generally drug/crime filled class of gangs and undesirables with guns also. As a result guns are absolutely everywhere. Attempts to limit them are not taken seriously and there is a mass hysteria of both Gun Fear and Gun Worship that makes people unreasonable. AS a result gun violence is really high. This is not part of the history or culture of Canada Or Switzerland.
