Yeah, it seems like a lot of the last few mass shootings the shooter was on some watchlist but the FBI droppes the ball and does nothing. What can they do without crossing the boundary of thought police? At best is keep tabs but even then, do we want the FBI spying on us by word of mouth alone? What if, for example, I get a shitty neighbor who reports me of suspicious behavior because they have an irrational hatred of me. Now I got the feds zero'd in on my IP address and shit, probably my phone too, just because someone is a prick? Where do we draw the line and how do we ensure the innocent aren't having their rights violated? He was reported for a YouTube comment saying the he was going to shoot up a school. That's not a fucking irrational hatred someone had for him. He said he was going to do it and he did.
