Three quarters of the states must ratify an amendment, not all of them. At 50 states currently, that means 38 states would need to ratify.

What about the 10th amendment that states that everything not included in the first 10 is left up to the states? So isn't that where individual state laws regarding guns come into play?

10th states that anything not given to the federal government by the Constitution or by the states will be handled by the states or the people. A new amendment would be part of the Constitution, obviously.
