Here's part of an email the professor sent us regarding the times we could come to his office to view our exams
VERY IMPORTANT: Viewing exams is to verify what you did wrong and to make sure I didn't make any mistake in adding numbers or significant error in grading. Viewing is ABSOLUTELY NOT for harassing me to add a little bit more here and a little bit more there in the hope to force yourself to the next grade up, even if you got D+ and engineering requires a minimum of C-. or you "need" a higher grade to get a scholarship. Don't forget that I don't "give" grades. I just calculate your grade. Your grade is earned in the different parts of the course and I have absolutely no liberty to change it to fit your needs. I can request a change of grade only if a mistake was made, and I have to justify my request to the Administration of the University, and my justification has to be valid.
Don't send me messages for now. I have no time to answer them. I have to send the table of marks/gardes to all sections first. To the 1 or 2 of you who wrote "I was absolutely shocked to see my grade...", bear in mind that I was absolutely shocked to see your answers in the final exam. The grade you got is the one earned by your performance in the course. Once again, I don't decide what anyone's grade is.
