Almost every single mass shooter either passed a NICS, or killed someone that legally owned guns to start their crime. People throw that stupid line, "We gotta do something," then go and pass some dumb feel-good law, or draconian ban that hurts the people that abide by it. There's people in power every fucking day that make it their career goal to ban guns. Even managed to do it in the 90's.
