Preevyet is correct. Propagandists such as CNN and a few other "heavyweights" started pushing the idea Trump won because of "Fake news" on Facebook--but specifically focusing on pro-Trump fake news, not obvious pro-Hillary fake news that anyone on Facebook with a level head also knew existed.

Then CNN specifically created a list of "Fake News" sites and put some conservative websites on it, which they were forced to retract and remove from their list. Shortly after, the term Fake News got thrown onto them and it'll take them years to shake. They wish they never created it.

Mainstream media was slandering online news sources to regain credibility and to imply they were the only people you could trust.

It was a shady marketing ploy that backfired horribly
