I've played on and off for 12 years and I've been a curling ice maker for 10 years. Even in my limited exposure I've met and made ice for several olympic athletes and medalists. It's one sport where it's quite easy to meet the elite players.

I can't tell if this post is serious or not

what makes you think it might not be serious?

don't know. Guess it's the ice maker part. I have no idea what that is

We turn it from a concrete floor into a playing surface at the beginning of the season and maintain the ice throughout the day, before and between games. Unlike hockey/skating ice it's a textured surface so we don't use a zamboni.

How much practice are we talking a week to be an olympic level curler?

A fair bit. Most elite teams play in a few leagues together and participate in tournaments throughout the season, as well as qualifiers at the provincial and national level. Generally they spend 2 or 3 hours on the ice five or six days a week. Many play out of a few clubs to increase their chances of booking practice ice.
