Lol.

But tofu actually is good. Yall goobies need to try mapo tofu, or fried tofu.

Idk man. The fact it needs to be deep fried or smothered in a strong sauce doesn't really lend much to it.

Tofu isnt something you eat for taste, but texture. It takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it in/with.

Its got a firm, yet spongey texture thats nice to bite into and melts in your mouth. The fried varieties even more so.

It pairs really nice with rice or noodles. And is great in curry

I've eaten and cooked with tofu many times, I'm well aware of the culinary applications it has. Personally i find the texture is anything but the firmest of tofu awful and inferior to most starches like potato or tapioca or cassava. Starch aside, it's also not even remotely close to poultry meat texture, which is what most vegetarians tend to use it as a substitute for.

If you want to substitute it or use it in dishes, then go for it. But don't act like it's good. Unless you were raised on it (as many Asian people are) it is incredibly unpalatable compared to most other foodstuffs.

(Also if you are in fact Asian and were raised on it, ignore this and I 100% understand.)
