You see this shit all the time. Daughter wants to do something with their appearance, father (often SPECIFICALLY and solely the father) is HEAVILY opposed to it because "you're too young" or in more shit-ass examples "that's slutty"; the issue is not on the daughter's end, but on the father for associating something as innocuous as highlights, or pierced ears, or make up, etc with sexuality. These fathers don't do this to "protect" their daughters, they do it because they can't control themselves from sexualizing their daughter for doing something they wrongfully conflate with sexuality.

Did you seriously just try to say that make-up isnt associated with sexuality? The entire reason that it exists is to make women appear more sexually attractive. There's literally no other usage for it. ---
