KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF

Pro-tip: just assume your colleague does not want you to touch them unless they specifically state otherwise.

Yes, this includes cheek kisses, lingering hugs, creepy uncle brush-ups, and the discomfortingly clammy hand-on-the-lower-back. Basically, anything more than a handshake.

READ THE BODY LANGUAGE

Wilson noted that women werent as forthcoming as the men at some of the etiquette conferences shed given.

When she asked for their opinions on appropriate behaviour, one woman even admitted she didnt realise it was okay to say no when a man tried to make physical contact.

But non-verbal cues hold just as much volume regardless, and Wilson said she herself uses her body language to emphasise whats appropriate behaviour.

LAY OFF THE BOOZE

Alcohol intake is no excuse in itself for sexual harassment, but Wilson says theres no denying it can be a trigger for some people.

It really boils down to self-respect, knowing how people should treat you and how you want to be treated, she said. Drinking a lot of alcohol can affect that. Australia in particular is a very boozy country its a culture with lots of alcohol.

Have a couple of glasses of champs, max.

CALL OUT CRAPPY BEHAVIOUR

We know how it is. The blokes are all seated around a pub table, pretending to actually enjoy beer while desperately hoping no one will see the micro-expression of disgust hitting their face with every sip.

Then, the conversation turns to women, and the tone is objectifying and generally gross.

It does not make you any less of a man to call them out on it and change the conversation. If anything, passively permitting it only makes you just as much of an arsehole.

Do you follow these rules?
