I don't believe that God is directly involved with the Earth's affairs, that's the point of Jesus coming to Earth (Why didn't God just do something directly like he does in the Old Testament?). The Earth isn't a perfect place. Some people have it better than others, especially on the world stage. But there's only so much you can do on your own.
