The right way to do horror is to let that unease and tension build and build, until every turn of the corner has the viewer worriedly thinking "THIS is where it's gonna jump out." Not just have shit jump out every few seconds. Even better is to focus on ideas which will linger in the viewers' minds long after the film is over, not cheap shock in general.
