Topic	The First Purge teaser trailer

I've always thought The Purge had massive, massive potential to be a great dramatic series on the issues of the human condition Did u tho Yes, I did. I remember when I was in college, and the first Purge was coming out and from the premise it sounded like something that could be adapted into a great drama about what it means to be civil, to have morals and ethics, is it worth killing someone even if you're allowed to? I was minoring in sociology at the time, so the ideas of what could be done with a movie like it was pretty great. It's been a while since I saw it but wasn't the first literally a satire of fake American pleasantries and social standards? Like a typical suburban town full of Stepford Smilers devolving into maniacs looking to kill each other? It might have been in the actual movie, I just know the trailer turned me completely off from it because it was marketed like a horror movie.
