I thought this was about the new "Iron Man" from last year. The movies are doing it too? no, but its getting at that this character not being liked my the Marvel Universe or something? making it sound like the character made herself that smart, and that would lead to her not being accepted. it was not the actress or the character's choice to be written how it was. and if you're talking about the writers (who are writing FOR the marvel universe), who do they need to "make friends with"? this is part of the universe, and it happens that this smartest person is a young black woman.
