I'm thankful we don't have a food stamp system over here. I mean we can spend our benefits on whatever we please.
actually funny you say that. when I moved to Alaska I had to sign up for food stamps again for the first time in 4 years. and I guess food stamps is a state thing, different in state to state. and in Alaska they started by telling me on the phone interview that I would receive a "very low amount. just 19 dollars a month" and I thought "wtf.....that's not even worth it" and then she continued and said "and you will get $300 a month in the cash program"
they gave me a card that I can use that just gets 19 bucks added to it's account once a month. but they also at the same time direct deposit 300 cash dollars to my bank account. So I get to do exactly what you said.
it's weird. Alaska is a red state, and Washington was a super hardcore liberal state. and yet it seems like in just about every situation, Alaska has better services than Washington for people like me.
Have you gotten the oil check yet? Also how about the road kill moose meat? ---
