Conventional plastic bags made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE, the plastic sacks found at grocery stores) had the smallest per-use environmental impact of all those tested.

Which means what? "Per use" means nothing when plastic is not typically durable enough for multiple uses (sometimes it doesn't even survive one use) and canvas bags are meant to be used repeatedly. That doesn't tell me anything unless "per use" is supposed to mean "per lifecycle" of each bag type. Also, is this a bag-for-bag comparison, or does it normalize the amounts of grocery carrying capability? Because canvas bags come in different sizes but I'd say on average a single one can carry two to three times as much as one plastic bag.
