But I never understood why anyone would actively search for the thing as no one ever saw it do anything but make an already powerful creature slightly more powerful.


again: its power is over the wielder. you see the ring's power frequently: everyone who comes near it goes crazy with lust for its power, even though they could only have a fraction of that power. the ring in the dark lord's hands had such power that he almost destroyed a united world.
