They did a complete 180 on Drax' character taking him from a serious character with a tragic backstory to just straight up comic relief in the second one. The Gamora/Nebula sidestory just felt forced so there would be something for those characters to do in the movie. I didn't care for any of the new characters who were introduced except for the villain because Kurt Russell is an American treasure and he can do no wrong. The music overall was worse, with the one exception being imo when they played My Sweet Lord as they were flying across the villain's homeworld. I liked it more than probably most of the Marvel movies, but I didn't think it was nearly as good as the first one. Now that he's been able to avenge his family, I don't know where they can take the character. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
