It's a pretty good read. Essentially, school zones have been widened to include vast areas, often in communities of color. The opposite is true in whiter communities. It's being used inappropriately to jack up sentences. Most times, arrests don't involve children in anyway. It's manufactured leverage, often being used to get criminals of color to accept plea deals, further feeding the prison industrial complex
