Dems for sure. They're often overly moralizing, patronizing, and flat-out hypocritical on almost every issue. However the most recent generation have become effective communistic whiners with no concept of reality. They talk about things like how it's wrong to stereotype people based on their origin, lifestyle, or beliefs, then promptly label anyone who disagrees with them as being a bible-belt dwelling redneck who is too stupid to grasp simple concepts such as 'morals' and sleeps with their cousins. Talk about how oppressive the farmer who spends all day working the fields is from their coffee houses and luxury smart phones. Claim that land belongs to indigenous peoples and imperialism needs to die before proclaiming anyone with even a bit of concern over immigration as being a racist nazi searching for a final solution.

This is about actual public servants, not liberals in general. If we wanted to take your approach to answering the question, then I'd point out how Republicans have voters that wear KKK hoods and march with Nazi flags. Your perceptions sound way off-base and paranoid anyway. Like how is being pro-immigration and anti-imperialism hypocritical? That sounds borne of "_____ are going to take over the country!" fear-mongering. When do liberals ever complain about farmers (and by that I mean farmers, not giant agriculture corporations) being oppressive? I'll give you that redneck stereotyping exists, but it's a pretty easy target when "proud to be ignorant" simpletons wear it so brightly. I don't think that stereotype is that universal, especially as the alt-right has given rise to conservatism in atheist suburbanites. Also, you realize you're doing the same thing when you stereotype liberals as smartphone-obsessed Starbucks addicts?

Anyways, on-topic, at least the Democrats actually attempt to help people and try new things, and some of their ideas have wide bipartisan public support (like DACA and net neutrality). Republicans are stuck singing the same tune from 30 or 40 years ago, despite evidence that their policies are huge failures and/or only serve to help corporate interests. They ignore compromises that get them some of what they want (for example, increasing access to birth control reduces the rate of abortions, but they keep trying to limit birth control too), and lately have been content with eliminating popular initiatives out of spite. Republicans are way worse. The Democrats are spineless losers with an obvious problem with party favoritism, but if anything I think that just angers more left-leaning people than right-leaning. Both parties have had disastrous interventionist foreign policy in recent years so I'd call that one a wash.
