right, its about context normally for me.

Indian Res(ervation) or the specific tribe name + res, same with casino, etc.

When talking about a specific person if I'm describing them it generally is native American or something other than indian just because that always seems to add some ambiguity rather than totally clarify it, whereas native American would be clear.
