Games have gotten easier over the years, this much is fact. I haven't gotten better at all (if anything I've gotten worse).

Sure........but how many people on gamefaqs have only been playing for 5 years? I'm talking about the last 10 years or so at least games have gotten easier. The same stuff you'd expect from an older game is just way easier done than it was before. They are VERY forgiving, not just "easy mode". They let you get away with a lot more than previously making it easier than an older game which didn't hold your hand as much.

You don't necessarily need to get better. But you have most likely gotten use to something. Games start to seem easier once you get use to them...

Also, games are probably more forgiving because they can be. Older games were much shorter. And most didn't have save points like games these day do. Some had save files. But the a lot of older ones were games you had to start from the beginning every time... games got easier because they got longer and better with saving. Meaning they didn't have to make the game harder to give you play value. I mean, that's obviously not the only reason. But I think it contributes a little to why games can be a little easier these days.

That being said, normal is how the devs want you to play the game, or how they are meant to be played unless specified otherwise... which some games actually do...(because devs don't have to artificially make games longer by making it much harder, basically...)
