One of the funniest/saddest things I've ever seen in my life was when our gruff, old, ex-military P.E. coach made a kid cry because he yelled at him for not running, then the kid says he was home schooled and his parents never made him run so he didn't know how. Coach didn't believe him and sent him to the office, then one of the A.P.s came back with the kid and he explained the situation to him. Coach spent the class teaching him how to run while we did some fitness test crap. We're doing our pushups and sit-ups and there's this awkward kid running all bowlegged, plodding feet around the perimeter of the gym. that doesn't make sense. how do you not know how to run? that's like not knowing how to lift an arm. it's instinct ...
