Were that true (as I won't speak for CJayC as he was before my time), the difference here is Allen likely doesn't believe any of the shit he's spewing trying to spin this.

CJayC was saying very similar things. The merger started as a rumor by people here because they saw it as the inevitable conclusion of the deals CJayC was making, and thus the infamous response from CJayC on site announcements stating that GameFaqs would never merge and the soul of the site would remain intact.

Of course CJayC tended to be arrogant as well, but still several questions remain.
