I don't smoke and haven't done so for years.

But I hate all these anti-smoking commercials. Those damn commercials aren't going to stop someone from smoking. I can tell you that as a former smoker.

I agree with you on that, totally.

I would assume anti smoking commercials are mostly meant to stop people from smoking to begin with rather than helping current smokers.

If anything, too many of those ads are almost obnoxious to the point that they backfire, and are pathetic. I'm mainly thinking about the Truth commercials btw, and not so much the 'a tip from a former smoker' CDC ad campaign. Which seem to be among the very rare times, I've seen an anti-smoking ad that was effective. I'd also add the Yul Brunner(sp? he was an actor in a lot of old Western movies) one he did just before he died, as being effective as well.

the alcohol industry is terrified of legal weed. hilarious watching them shake in their little boots.

Honestly, I think the alcohol industry will be fine. There are a lot of people into craft beer alone, or other types of liquor. I hadn't seen much data from Colorado or other states with fully legalized pot, but my guess is that it didn't affect alcohol sales that much. Maybe a little bit, but I bet the effects in decreased sales weren't that significant.
