Yes, of course it is. the author's point is that many of the "jokes" in that movie would be considered in poor taste today, just like how minstrel comedy was considered a "joke" but is now offensive. that's not to say that Dundee shouldn't be revived, but in doing so we need to be aware of the cultural shifts that have occurred in the ~30 years since the original film. it doesn't surprise me that this point when right over your head, though. People understand that point. They just don't agree with it or care about it.
