Because Obama objectively wasn't bad for the country. America thrived, the recession ended, unemployment went down under him, social progress in the form of gay marriage and legalisation of marijuana in many states...the Obama years were good.
The last two years feel like it was shit because of the cop situation reached a fever point too big to ignore and social media became huge giving every loudmouth a megaphone and shining light into the dark corners of the country people previously ignored. It couldn't be helped.
