Basically it was, "Nothing has any stakes at all. Do challenges instead of Gym Battles! Oh WOW, there is this portal that has ULTRA BEA... oh wait, they're just more Legendary Pokemon. Let's have those Legendary Pokemon battle with other Legendary Pokemon! Let's make our evil team a bunch of losers! Then we will shoehorn in that they failed early in life so you know... they... are losers? FEEL BAD FOR THEM MAN!" I dunno, I suppose I shouldn't play Pokemon for the story, but after how great B/W especially were in that category, Sun and Moon feels like a no stakes, who the fuck cares type of Pokemon story. --- ...
