Topic	How does Christianity explain the fact that they weren't the first religion?

I understand resentment of hypocrisy, but that's no excuse for someone to hate Christianity itself. Jesus Christ is the only example of how a Christian should live that people should go by. Maybe he is, but many people find the concept of what Christianity is rather offensive and against what they value as good.
