It's pretty clear that Loki is not a devil analogue. He was a Vanir which was like a minor nobility compared to the Aesir (Odin, Thor, etc). Aesir and Vanir were allies and Loki and Odin were friends and were up until Odin turns his first son into his mount, chains up his second son at the bottom of some dark cave, banishes his daughter to Nifelheim, and throws his third son into the ocean.
